Northern Nevada
Relocating. Reinventing. Renovating.
It's an area with a rich history, known worldwide for its dynamic and vibrant downtown.
Even in its earliest stages of development, Reno was filled with an entrepreneurial spirit famous in the West. The earliest settlers were ranchers who embraced the area's meadows and grazing lands. Next gold struck it big and then there was the silver "rush." Through it all, Reno has been a city that has created opportunity, connected with markets via ground, rail and air, and stimulated innovation, while preserving an outstanding quality of life. When it comes to the types of opportunities available to businesses, Reno's downtown corridor is unlike any other city in the world. Never has a city been more poised to transform its future and business expansion and development than Reno is today.

Reno offers business even more. The Reno Redevelopment Agency (RRA) is willing and able to create unique and creative incentive packages. The successes over the years speak for themselves. RRA has extensive experience in completing successful development agreements with many regional and national developers. Aside from Reno's incentives, businesses also enjoy state-sponsored incentives and offers. |
Quality of life.

Reno rests at a comfortable and gorgeous 4,400 feet above sea level, enjoying more than 300 sunny days each year. The area receives about 12 inches of precipitation annually, much of which is snow falling at the higher altitudes, contributing to unmatched outdoor recreational opportunities among the 15 easily accessible ski resorts in the Lake Tahoe area. The University of Nevada, Reno has 12,500 students in 10 schools and colleges, contributing to the community's culture and diversity. A world-class tourist destination with a rich arts scene and year-round outdoor activities, Reno has something for everyone. People enjoy living in the Truckee Meadows, and it shows. Each year the City of Reno conducts a Citizen Satisfaction Survey. In 2002, 87.1 percent of respondents said they were satisfied with their quality of life. Also, 91.4 percent said they feel safe in their neighborhood. Reno has always been a friendly home to families, surrounded by unlimited recreational and cultural experiences. The Reno of tomorrow has very exciting possibilities taking shape today. |
